SWIM WITH ATLANTIS SC FOR COMPETITION, FITNESS AND FUN

Disciplinary Procedure

If a swimmer has been asked to leave the pool, for any reason, on more than 3 occasions for bad behaviour, or any action deemed to be hazardous to other swimmers or coaches/poolside helpers the following procedure will commence: -

1.      If the swimmer continues to misbehave, a verbal warning will be given, with a Coach and Committee member present and the parent(s)/guardian(s) present or informed immediately thereafter.

2.      If the behaviour pattern continues, a letter of warning will be sent on behalf of the committee to the swimmer(s), with copies to their parents/guardians. The parents/guardians having been previously notified of this procedure.

3.      If this does not resolve the problem and any further incident occurs, the swimmer may be suspended or asked to leave the club. The swimmer and the parents will be informed at the time of the incident that this course of action will be discussed by the committee and, in accordance with the club Constitution, they will receive a letter informing them of the committee's decision and giving them the opportunity to contest the decision.

4.      Should a swimmer's behaviour cause injury or be likely to cause injury to any other person, they will be reported to the committee and may be immediately suspended, without recourse to the above.

Swimmers and parents must be aware that the coaches and poolside helpers are responsible for EVERY swimmer in the water and will not tolerate any incident or behaviour they consider to be a danger either to that swimmer, themselves or to that of any other swimmers.

The Atlantis Committee will fully support their Coaches and Poolside Helpers.
