Atlantis ASC Code of Conduct
¨ Whether as a team member at Sussex League / Invitation events, an individual entrant at County / Open Meets or attending your normal training sessions you are a representative of Atlantis S.C. We expect your behaviour to be exemplary at all times. This includes poolside, changing areas and reception areas.
¨ Persistent misbehaviour or behaviour likely to cause injury to others will result in disciplinary procedures being instigated.
¨ Make sure you arrive in good time for the training session. Swimmers arriving more than 10 minutes after the start of a session may not be allowed to swim unless there are exceptional circumstances for their being late and there is minimum disruption to the session.
¨ Swimmers must always tell the coach / poolside helper if they wish to leave the pool for any reason. They must not just leave the water without explanation.
¨ Swimmers must respect their coaches and carry out their instructions for the safe running and supervision of the sessions.
¨ No pushing other swimmers into the water - from the side or from starting blocks.
¨ No hitting, kicking, punching, fighting or any other behaviour that may be deemed a danger to other people, swimmers or other members of the club.
¨ No jumping into the water unless supervised or told to do so by the coach.
¨ Swimmers are only allowed on the blocks when given instructions by the coach.
¨ No throwing floats, pull buoys or any other poolside objects.
¨ No flicking each other with goggle straps or towels.
¨ No use of bad language.
¨ Swimmers are advised and requested not to leave their clothes and valuables in changing cubicles. They should use suitable lockers or bring them poolside - space permitting.
¨ Shower areas are normally quite small. Please make sure you are quick and give others a chance. There is to be no pushing and shoving in the showers. Please wait your turn and think of others.
¨ Swimmers are requested to change and leave the changing area quickly and quietly.
